Just got home from London, and I noticed they have put a row of 5 cameras on either side of the road, (just before the second camera coming away from london and virtually opposite on the london bound side - not far from the A406 junction). There isn't a second set in either direction so i don't think they are average speed cameras, but they look very

Anyone seen them and know what they are??

They look very similar to congestion charge. Not sure its coming out that far though. What ever they are it will no doubt cost us money.

They have put exactly the same set of cameras on the A406 just by the Neasden Turning...........

I have no idea what there for?

Normally when they put them many cameras in one place, it indicates that there will be road works starting in the not to distant future.

They did the same on the M11 a few years back when the widened the road at J27

These aren't that type of camera. All 5 are on one stand facing the oncoming traffic and they are not painted yellow, so I don't think they are speed cameras. They were doing ANPR checks on the A13 near Goresbrook the other day, I wonder if Tissy can enlighten us on these cameras.....might be part of his work

Think its outside of Tissy's area for ANPR checks. never see the Evo.....

But they are defo a strange set up. If i get the chance i will get a pic sitting in traffic tonight.

Sorry, what I meant is that they're CCTV cameras to monitor the traffic in case of breakdowns etc, rather then a SPEC's set up

I wondered when i said 5 in a row that you thought that there were 5 seperate cameras.
I am curious as to why there are 5 cameras for 4 lanes, also I only caught a glance today, but there is a single camera of the same design about 100 yards further down the road. I will double check tomorrow when I am back up there.

They have put them on A406 at the tesco flyover but there is only one camera on the post ... could be for cheacking car tax...

these camera's look the same as the ones that have been all over london for years, think its all to do with ANPR and security as well as what else they use them for.

These cameras are going up everywhere, they have just put some up on the A2 & A20 in both directions
