Bye Bye Scoob.....
Well, like so many in the ESC lately the time had come to say “bye bye” to the Scoob – had it 3yrs (a year longer than anything else I had owned) and decided that it really was time for a change……………. Had a great time with it and although it wasn’t tuned anything like the others in the ESC, in general it held it’s ground and kept up with everyone… (almost)…. Loved the rare colour, but colour is only skin deep…..
Trouble is with the second hand residuals on WRX’s hitting an all time low (the consequences of the price reduction by Subaru to get rid of their old stocks), the P/X value of my much loved Mica Red WRX Scoob was also suffering – so if I was going to do anything about it the time had to be NOW………….
First of all – reverted it to the OE back box (what a difference to the H&S Back Box I had got used to – Soooooooo quiet now)….. (Wasn’t going to lose the H&S box)!
Left the graphics on as I couldn’t be arsed taking them off and cleaning it all up…
Spent many, many hours, days and weeks trawling through Pistonheads, Autotrader, SN and lots of other places trying to decide what I wanted to drive next……..
Eventually narrowed it down to two options….. one a brand spanking new car, the other a nearly new second hand one.
Once I’d decided what to concentrate on – I spent more time going through all the adverts etc and went to see a number of different cars within the chosen options…. Was soooooo close to signing up a deal for a nearly new second hand one, but it fell through at the last minute.
Two weeks later I was about to go off to a dealer on the other side of the M25 to sort out a brand new one, when unexpectedly, the nearly new second hand one came back onto the market! - Excited - I shot off to see it again and this time the deal was done!! It was mine!!
What is it……….. ?????
Well - you will see at tonight’s posers……
Oh all right then --------- Bye Bye Red Scoob – Hello Blue Scoob!!
Got a 55 plate STI in WR Blue – and even better – it has the PPP fitted, so that’s 305 bhp etc as standard all in the deal. Only 9,700 miles from new, one owner, brand new set of RE070’s, fully serviced and 6 months tax all in the deal.
Moley has sorted the insurance, so I’m just getting ready to go to the posers and will see you all later!!
I might be grinning a bit like a cat that’s had the milk, cream, next doors dog, etc, etc, but bear with me – it will wear off ………eventually….

TBH Blue wasn't going to be my first choice, but this one came up at the right price, the right time, the right P/X deal, the right location..... almost as if someone "up there" was saying to me "this one is yours"....... so I thought it would be rude not too!!
