Southern Big One 2007 - 8th July 2007
The Southern Big One will be held on 8th July 2007.
Beale Wildlife Park is the venue again and is ideally located in the Central Southern area, close to Reading and well sign-posted from the M4, thus attracting visitors from all over the South. Good facilities and catering will ensure that the day is a success. Also entrance to the show will entitle you to half-price admission to the Wildlife Park.
This year we are supporting the Make a Wish Foundation as our chosen charity. Make-A-Wish grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses. The charity was founded in the UK in 1986 and, since then, have granted over 4,200 wishes. Whether a wish is to be a princess or a policeman for a day, own the latest computer equipment, meet a favourite celebrity or just enjoy some special time away from home with their family, a wish come true brings so much to a child's life and provides memories for the family that last a lifetime. Details at: www.make-a-wish.org.uk
As before the attendance charge will be £5 per car but please throw in your change as well to support this worthy cause.
The show will be open from 10am to 5pm – Traders and clubs please arrive earlier by arrangement with the organiser to allow us to help get you setup. Would club organisers liase with the show organisers to set a time.
Please register your wish to attend on the show website www.southernbigone.co.uk to allows us to get a good idea of numbers for parking and insurance reasons.
Important notices:
1 - NO BBQ's - We will definitely NOT be allowed any BBQ's on the site - due to Health & Safety matters with over 1000 people on site and the rules laid down by the site owners. Catering will be available on site to purchase food or please feel free to picnic.
2 - SPEED CAMERA'S - There are 2 on the approach to Beale Park in 30mph limits. Please take care and do not speed on the main approach road - I wouldn't be surprised if the local police set up speed traps in the faster areas on that road - and I wouldn't want anyone's day to be spoiled by such an incident.
3 - CLUB RAFFLES - This year, there will be one official Southern Big One raffle and as a result, we would ask that individual clubs please refrain from running their own raffles. However, clubs will be allowed to sell Southern Big One raffle tickets on their stands. If you wish to donate prizes these will of course be gratefully received.
