Hello all
New to this scooby business but enjoying it a lot so far. Have bought a 95 import in dark blue. Its all good except I have a very annoying high pitched squeak coming from the front mainly when the car goes over bumps and stuff. Have been told it could be the heat shields, I know its not the exhaust as I have changed it. Any ideas, hopefully not too expensive !!!!
Will post more info and pics soon, but should be down in southend on Saturday. Look for a fat bloke in dark blue Scooby with gold alloys and a big smile.Coming down with a calibra, Skyline and Audi A3. Its also my first date with a new girlfriend, I know how to treat them !!!

From that description it's going to be tough to spot you mate
Welcome on board, see you saturday. As a newbie it's always intimidating but make sure you come and speak to the people in pink shirts

It does sound like either one of the heat shields over your manifold (they tend to crack where they bolt together) .
Or it is the Hamster in it's wheel that powers the engine

sounds about right, mine used to make the same as yours by the sound of it and it was one of the heat shields,i had a look at mine everything was done up tight but the heat shield still had play in it,so thats what made the sound on mine, not hard to get to once you have jacked it up,have a look for any play in any of the shields....

I've been having a similar problem lately, a kind of screaming / squealling sound coming from near side of the car?
It usually cures itself when the passenger gets out of the car
