Default Engine hoist anyone???

As you may know my head gasket/s have blown.option 1, bin this engine completely and whack a version 7 complete lump in, inc heads etc, which has been offered to me.option 2, pay someone to replace the head gasket/s option 3, (brave one) pull the engine out myself and have a go, it cant be THAT hard, if Cornelius can do it, lol. but would need to borrow a hoist for a while as if i do do it its gonna take me some time.option 1 is obviously the better route, but funds are dictating to what I can and cant do, even option 2 is gonna be hard.Does anyone know how much it will cost for gaskets, and even if its just one gone would you change both while its out? The studs also need replacing iirc.Come on guys what shall I do

I have access to a hoist but surely you will need an engine stand for most of the work... its near impossible to work with it on a hoist... trust me i tried with the rover... If you need to borrow let me know...

If i do it i will buy a stand, and transfer the engine straight to it after it comes out, I forgot about you you have had a few lumps out of impreza too havent you?

Is it something I should attempt?

If you've blown the headgasket(s), there is a risk that the heads are now distorted and would also need skimming.

I was going to get them done anyway, I thought it was good practice to skim the heads any time you change the gasket anyway
