Tunnel Run Question
Being completely new to the Subaru scene and having never been on a cruise with 70 odd cars at once, are there any "rules" or "etiquette" that needs to be followed on the night?
I know that all you regulars are likely to be laughing at this, but there are probably a few people reading this in the same situation wondering what happens on the night.
Anything we should know?

I beleive there has never been any hard set rules, other than for everyone to use their common sense and remember it's not a race, but a noisy cruise in tunnels.
Observe speed limits and allow traffic to flow as much as possible.
I'm sure the organiser will knock something up soon.
Welcome to the real arena.

Trust me ScoobyMaz, I am probably the slowest Scooby driver in the club when it comes to convoying !! I get really nervous !! You should have seen me when we all drove up to Jap Fest on Sunday, think I was always near the back, but NO BODY left me to it! Everyone kinda kept an eye on each other!
I wasnt going to join the Tunnel Run, but after alot of arm twisting, I decided I'd give it a go, and as Tiny said the idea of this run is to make loud noises thru the tunnels, which are best done in 2nd/3rd gear on a Scooby!!
Defo get a walkie talkie, as very handy if something comes up...but DO NOT ABUSE THE AIR WAY OR YOU WILL GET SLAPPED WRISTS !!!! Hee hee!!!

Seriously
1. Try and get there early, we meet at 9pm and leave at 9-30 sharp.
2. Make sure the car is prepared, check oil, lights, tyre pressures, fuel etc
3. Subscribe to the thread
4. Read carefully and print off your own copy of the route plan
5. Keep your Road Angel up to date
6. If you have sat nav spend some time in the days leading up to the run learning how to set way points
7. Try and get some 2 way radios and set them on Channel 1 (make sure the batteries are charged)
8. Keep your eyes on the road and more importantly the car in front of you at all times.
9. We drive in fairly close formation so be careful
10. Indicate if changing lanes and wait for a flash, equally flash if someone wants to pull out in front of you.
11. The event is NOT about speeding the leaders will keep the speed down to about 40-50 mph on the national speed limit roads and obviously 30mph where appropriate
12. The route is littered with speed cameras and traffic light cameras, do not be tempted
13. Absoutely no donuts or misbehaving at Lakeside services or any of the re-groups. we have been doing this for may years now and never had any problems, lets not make this year a first.
14. As EmEm has said, meet some new faces and HAVE A GOOD TIME
At all times we are representing the ESC/SIDC. I know a few people are worried about the authorities on this one. As I say we have run this many times before and never ever had any problems. I remember one year that we parked up at McDonalds and filled the car park. The police did a drive by and couldn't believe how many of us there were and came around again for another look
Any other questions

All seems pretty ok, I signed up on the original thread a while ago and the road angel is fine. I know the areas where we are going pretty well, but would like to see a copy of the route. I guess it is on the ESC Tunnel Run thread so will go through the 14 pages next!
Thanks for your help, see you all on the night.

didn't think anyone would answer as the meet is on at the halfway house tonight!
Must admit the thought of 90-100 cars going through the tunnels sounds awesome. I will have a full car too by the sounds of it, everyone seems to want to come along!
Shame the link is closed, I go through there every day (not in the scooby) and can't even begin to imagine what it will sound like!
