Default Am I paranoid???

1st silly question!!!

When you turn ignition key and when the car is running, is it normal to hear a "buzzing" noise? Seems to be from under car, rather than engine bay.

I remember Taz's cossie used to make the same noise, which was the fuel pump? Am I just looking for something to go wrong??

Can't remember hearing it before, but then I'm one of those people that can hear sounds that no one else seems to.....Taz tells me its just the voices in my head!!!!!

open the boot, if the buzz is louder, it's the fuel pump. It's located in the tank, on the right hand side, just behind the rear seats

No rabbits!!
I'm sure the bloke said it had a new pump. Should I be worried, or just keep an eye on it??
I'm sure it's always buzzed, but think I've just noticed it more today???

I changed my fuel pump for a walbro pump, and sometimes you can hear it buzzing, especially on hot days

Its got nearly a fall tank!! I think I am being paranoid!!! Cant see any leaks, and like I said cossie use to buzz

I'm so worried about something going BANG!! Its silly really, as it drives like such a normal car when I want it to...unlike Taz's old cossie that didn't know below 40mph !!!!

I must admit, considering I "hated" Scooby's, they are pretty fab cars!! Petrol is UNBELIEVEABLE!! I put £40 of Tesco 99ron on Sunday, which nearly filled the tank, and its just over 3/4 full still...and I have had a few blats !!

Took boss out in it today for a short whorl, and he was impressed. Said it "makes you feel sick" fast....which I thought was quite good considering he drives a Porche (sp)!!

petrol won't last long when you start driving it like that all the time. i get through £45 a week and cover about 200 miles for that. and i drive it pretty conseratively.

i'd had the turbo and been out in loads of cossies before i got the scooby and i haven't looked back since. i was always a die hard rs fan....... until i found the scoobies. more refined than a cossie imo. as you say it can do all round. when i have my 3 month in it, it's a normal family car. then when i'm on my own it'll let me be a holigan if i want to be.

long live the subaru impreza i say

The diesel pump on my 4x4 was awful when that needed replacing...£550 + vat they had to remove half the underside of the car to get to the damn thing!!!

Funny you should say that. Taz is a true Cossie fan..loves them and breaths them, but after picking my Scooby up last week, and driving it for a few days (I had no choice, I was in Norfolk!!) he has said on the occasion about getting rid of cossie and getting a Scooby!! I'm still working on him!!!!

Well said..........

By the way - on the Monkeyworld/Alton weekend, I've just done my fuel consumption check and I got 30.91mpg for the 380 miles I did - so I'm a happy bunny as I don't often get that (but as I had family in the car, I was being "sensible").....

never had that sort of mpg. best i've seen is about 24 mpg on a run. must get the lambda checked. although i guess if it's using that much fuel i won't have to worry about det.
