Unhappy blown gearbox

yay, managed to blow my gearbox last night so am trying to source either an sti v5\6 (plus diff), or preferably (for the taller 5th), a P1 box.

Pretty sure I'm going to get the work done at XS (Paul is kindly on the look out for me already), so I'd need to get ot shipped there.

any ideas anyone?

ian

Thumbs down

HTF did you blow it, I always thought that the gearboxes were pretty much bullet proof, obviously not

In answer to your question, it's got to be worth sticking a note in 'Wanted' on here or perhaps e-bay?

its a UK MY00 running on the weaker side of 300bhp, rolling 10mph start and then nailed it; big bang, lots of terrible noises and won't go into gear

will post in the wanted as well, ta.

lol, I almost joined the AA last week but will be today! I'm only in Chelmsford so its not too much of an issue to get it to XS...I'll give XS a ring and see what they say about dropping the car and internals off with them. I guess all i need do then is come and pick them up from your way?

I guess i won't need a new diff if I'm just using the internals?
