On the way to the Lodge coming from Brighton the car lost power at the top of the rev range + a strong smell of burning. it was ok when we left the lodge is this my clutch over heating??? do i need a new clutch or will it be ok(Bubs & myself was giving it some all the way from Brighton)

sorry Bubs wasn't giving some i was it's just my car is so slow i have to give it large just to keep up with bubs who was at 1/2 throttle he was just poodling along counting all the cows & sheep in the fields

 

he says there are over 2000 animals on the way back including birds

 

no. from a standing start it was fine only when it was about to wooshhh on the dump it was flat then the smell started.

 

still running it in then

 

if you think it may be the clutch, test it put the car i 3rd gear put the hand brake on rev to 3500rmp and let the clutch out slowly if the car stools the clutch is fine if it slips like mad and the clutch pedals is nearly at the top then you need a new clutch

 

sounds like 2 things, yet another engine rebuild coming on for Bubs

and sounds like the clutch is about to go

 

Bubs is unhappy at the moment please dont wind him up anymore

All I will says in indicators like a BMW not great for a convoy

 

its bad when lights go on the 'blink'.

I think this is more than just my clutch i think it could be something to do with the turbo
i've lost boost in all gears theres nothing wrong with the engine(i think) it pulls ok but no boost between 4500 to 6000 rpm.

 

any smoke out the back? if the turbo has let go you'd most likely see smoke in the rear view mirror. does it smell like oil burning?
