Who knows about brakes?
Its time to upgrade/renew.
I have chewed through 4 sets of pads since owning the car, but the origional discs remain. Now upon checking them they are warped and have cracks all over them.
Questions..
1. Can i just uprate the discs and keep my (newish) pads.
2. If not what package would anyone recommend, I cannot afford to go down the AP route yet So what other options are there, that have been tried and tested by you guys/girls?

I've always been told that if you change discs you should change the pads as well. i think it's something to do with them not bedding in properly / takes ages, if they've already been used on a different set of discs. but i'm no expert.
let me know if you get a group buy going for discs and pads, mine will need changing soon.

Cookie,
New discs and pads mate, dont go mixing old with new. If the pads were like 200miles old you might be able to get away with putting them on new discs.
Ive got Tarox G88 discs and 114 corse fast road/track pads and im very pleased with them.
How about an STI brembo setup? Or even a big disc kid from Godspeed, then you dont have to fork out for new calipers.

This was an upgrade i thought about, BUT, the STI boys upgrade further form them, so rather than spend around £800 for them i would rather spend a bit more for the AP stuff.

I have spoken to comp brake about the possibility of a group buy on this kit, however he can only offer the next kit up this was their reply:

I have had trouble finding alll these bits on their web site though to get an idea of what we would be getting.
But worth a thought.

speak to John at www.leda.com (and say jon and arron with the rally car sent you)
Im sure that they could sort out a deal for you local boys...upto 30% on a group buy(depending on numbers)
Leda supplied us with AP/Galfer 6 pots, discs, and bells for our rally car. They are fantastic.
There are a few kits available, including a large 4 pot kit, which would be more than adequate for road/track use...
good luck
