Don't know if this has made the local papers..

Essex Police has re-established its motorcycle unit, following a police authority decision in December 2005.
Essex Police has reinstated an additional six motorcycles across the county, to work alongside the two motorcycles already used by Essex Police in its education and training scheme Bikesafe.
Insp Keith Whiting from the Mobile Support division said: "Motorcycles are a great tool to help us impact on crime and significantly reduce death and serious injury on our roads."
The motorcycles also assist in policing hotspots for crime and disorder, and they can be used to arrive at incidents more efficiently. The motorcycles will also increase the number of vehicles seized which are used on the roads without insurance and/or a driving licence.
The reintroduction of marked motorcycles will also:
- provide an effective resource to prevent and detect crime, increase detection rates and make a positive impact on anti-social behaviour;
- further reduce casualty figures for all road users;
- deter criminals from using the roads by increasing the perception of being caught through the deployment of a highly visible resource;
- improve operational options for policing the county's roads;
- provide reassurance to the public through high visibility policing.
The vehicles can also be used to support operations and events such as the annual V concert and air shows. They will be able to provide a rapid response to major incidents for scene preservation and intelligence gathering and can be used to carry out specialist escorts.
