I just love Scooby ownership
Car booked in next week, to have both sides de-smashed
Got clutch replaced Monday costing plenty bucks
Now it looks like my gearbox has given up
Anyone got a cheap 6 speed going

not being funny mate but you are just chucking money into your car which is doing absolutely nothing for it's resale or current day value. You'd be better off getting a new scoob on finanace - you can get em for like 299 a month and then putting the cash you are spending on repairs into that.
I used to do exactly the same as you with my Turbo 2000. Over the long run the WR1 cost me a lot less to own.
