whats the difference?

i thought the ultra leggra's were a split rim version

Its where you can "split" the rim, you normally see loads of allen bolts round the edge, the rim normally comes out a lot further than the spokes, giving a dish like look

The rim is not a single piece ie monoblock like most alloy wheels.

Split rim means the actual rim is split into 2 or more pieces.

This is so that race cars can alter the width of the wheel without changing the whole rim. The ring of fasteners around the outside is where the rim is joined.

Here you can see the wheel centre and rim separated.
