In my book that is commitment, the magazine is really good but is let down by making staement like the one above and stringing everyone along. I just hope the time between issues is not as long as issues 7 & 8.

come on Baz give them a break ... spent a lot of time talking to Dee about the mag and I think they are doing a fine job. So what if they are late with a few issues. Last one was well worth it. Magasine is only in it's infancy and these type of issues are to be expected. Berating them for it is not going to achieve anything other than making them think twice about attending any meets.

Putting a mag like scooby mag together must be a monumental task, I have enough trouble running nevetas.com & 22b.com, trying to run a magazine from new must be so difficult.

SORRY i have to have another say.
there web site said for over 3 months "Release date of issue 8 to be announced shortly "
hence im not holding my breath for issue 9.
i give all credit to people who try & do these sort of things & the end results are well worth it.
But untill there is a DATE for the release
i stand by my original comment.

BUT i garantte 1st saturday of every month you will get your NEWSLETTER.
without fail.
i know its not the same, only 1 or 2 pages of A4,
but i still have to do the printing, lay out, sorting, editing, etc...
along with a JOB & looking after my KIDS.
But i do get it done.

The problem is with deadlines
If you don't set one you get moaned at
If you do set one and you miss it you get moaned at
I am sure Jon is working hard to sort the next issue
So lets not fall out over this
Baz what you do is appreciated especially as I started it and know how difficult it is, I am also heavily involved in the production of True Grip and that is not an easy job either

Baz preparing and printing a newsletter for 60+ people is very very different to producing a full glossy magasine for a distribution run in the thousands!!! I could prepare a newsletter in 15 minutes - Microsoft Word even has a wizard that will do it for you!!
My comment is that there was no need to berate Jon or Dee for being late with the distribution of their mag because they have to do everything by themselves as they are still in their infancy. You may or may not know very much about new business start ups but investors and stakeholders will eyeball all unnecessary costs and one of those is staffing costs. That is why Jon and Dee have to do everything single handedly.
I'm sorry but you can't compare the preparation of the ESC newsletter to the publication of a nationwide magasine ... lol that is completely ridiculous.
Before anyone starts logging on under different names and slating me I'm not in anyway suggesting that the newsletter is rubbish ... just making the point above.
I think your comment was out of place Baz! Dee/Jon, I apologise on his behalf and can assure you that people here understand what a struggle it is to do what you do

I think we have clarified what the problem is/was DEADLINES Jon is aware that this caused problems
Your comment above however is a little unfair. You try and produce one each month in 15 minutes and I think you would think a little different
Its not just get the format right !
Its content, editing and PRINTING especially when most of the content arrives at the last minute
So lets perhaps bring this to a close
I know Jon is on the case because I speak to him virtually every day

im wrong
ONCE AGAIN IVE SEEN THE LIGHT & I HAVE BEEN WRONG.
& GANGSTA you are right like you always are?
i wasnt saying the mag was RUBBISH, or LATE or NOT on time, or that JON & crew are not working hard,
i originaly said
"yeah yeah blar blar"
which meant im NOT holding my breath for the next issue,
i couldnt care if it was every other month, But people see a little comment on the site, & its a newsflash & every1 gets excited...
i know magazines take a lot of effert to make, & my services (pictures) if needed for SCOOBYMAG & TRUE GRIP are there if needed.
as sometimes you may not be able to get to a SHOW/ EVENT (or get a different angle of the same thing.) & i try & make them all.

Phil,
I produce newsletters every week ... you give me the data and I'll produce you one in 15 minutes or under. Baz was trying to compare the preparation of his newsletter to the preparation and distribution of a nationwide publication. I find that farsical!
What's your comment about my little blue friend all about??
I just get fed up with stupid comments like "yeh yeh blah blah" which are aimed at Jon and Dee from all corners. Nobody else says anything but I don't really give a monkeys about who I **** off or annoy I will say what I think.
