Default Fitting Sti 6 Front Splitter

Morning all

I've just bought an Sti 6 Front Splitter. I wouldn't normally ask a question like this but as I've only got a fitting window of 1 hour before it gets dark tonight I thought I would so that I can prepare myself / buy the bits I'll need on the way home

This morning I felt under the front bumper to see if there were any holes (I was in a rush to get to work and it was completely dark) but could not find any (they may be there though) LOL.

Are they there as standard?

But the main question is how have you fitted your splitters?

If there are no fitting holes pre moulded into the bumper I'm going the have to drill the holes but can't fit a drill between the road and the bumper to be able to used small M5 bolts.

Or have you used self tapping screws. Does seem as thought they may be able to vibrate loosse if this is the case (i.e. only held in place by srews).

RB5 286 = not ignoring your advice from last night mate, but I seem to remember you mentioned a combination of bolt holes and self tappers

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Xtreme & ABW = you are the guys with the experience of looking under / fitting these sorts of things. Any thoughts?

Cheers

there were mounting bolts under the front bumper which you can bolt it onto, but Xtreme's had to cut them off mine to make enough room for the new manifold!! oh well, didn't want one anyway

Thanks guys

Had a look in daylight and there are clearly holes there already (recessed) LOL

Trouble fitting was that there was very little hand room, so fitting the nuts was a nightmare! thought it would take me 45 mins!!!!!!

Took me 2 hours.

Didn't help the car being lowered 30mm either.

Anyway, all on now and it looks fantastic

You'll see it at the Shoot tomorrow (today) 12:25am

Good night

Bought mine second hand. A very rare occurance! as there aren't any out there.

You can buy them from a main dealer for £108 incl Vat + you'll need a fitting kit approx £10 from performance subaru or something similar!
