I Need your OLD MOBILE PHONES PLEASE, To help SAVE LIVES Via the Essex Air Ambulance.
Mobile phones could be saving lives in Essex in the coming year .
The Essex Air ambulance has just launched it's mobile phone recycling campaign & It's urging everyone who was lucky enough to get new phones @ Christmas to have another think about the old unwanted ones .
The Fundraising team is appealing to people to fish them out of the bins & drawers they may have been consigned to & hand them into the countywide charity instead .
For each mobile phone recycled the Air Ambulance , Which relies solely on donations to continue it's valuable work , Recieves cash in return .
It costs £100.000 Each month to maintain the emergency helicopter .
Every mobile handed in is given a service & recycled for use either in third world countries or the UK .
Those not good enough to use again are stripped down , The batteries ditched & parts reused
So Guy's & Gals this is where i'am appealing to you , Plz if possible can you try & Hunt out any of your old mobile phones , Ask @ Work , Friends & Family etc..
I Can collect these from you @ any of the meets coming soon , I would really like to get in excess of 100+ Phones together & Do a presentation with the Scoobs of the ESC & The air Ambulance , This is a charity very close to our heart , As living out here , We rely on this service , More than any other ..

Keep up the good work Guys
Have ask a couple of schools on my post round and the peeps at work.
Will also ask the chap in the post office and little corner shop to put up a poster about them.

Just to answer a few Q's ..
John1UK .. I Would love ton get in the region of 100 Phones before donating them mate , Im sure that this is possible if we can all pull

I am sure I can find some @ home but not sure bout chargers though 
are they bothered about age of phone as I still have some of my old moto bricks and flips LOL.
Hey Tiny if u wanna do any more work with the Essex Ambulance Service my other half used to be their charity events organiser and still close friends with them, Emma said she would be all too happy to help out if she can (publicity ect). Check out this old posting of the golf day she aranged

i have about ten phones
some are plain crap
others are bricks
if your still going in march and i sell the newest phone u can have the donations from that aswell

Right Guy's Another little update
I Have just got of the phone to the Air Ambulance appeals office
They are so gratefull , For what we are trying to do
I Asked about leads & Chargers ..
Leads & Chargers are not reqd , Sim card is not reqd either
So it's just your plain ole phone , In any condition !!
The Air ambulance recieves £3 FOR EVERY PHONE , That they donate to the recycling centre
So every phone that we collect / Donate , Raises the Air Ambulance £3
This is a never ending appeal & Runs 24/7
...... The Presentation ......
After hopefully hitting our target of 100 Phones , I Need to contact the appeals office , Then they will arrange for a colleauge to come out & Collect from us , With newspaper coverage as well
Please keep donating those phones
Cat 97 .. Nice one mate , Any help that you can offer really would be appreciated , Perhaps another poster designed for the ESC , Stating what we are doing , Would be nice to put one up in the local shop , Pubs etc ...
Please all spread the word , Lets get 100 Phones together !!
