it's been a bit quiet on the accident front recently, touch wood. mind you, the road is being relaid at the moment, was drifting round the sweeping bend just before manorway house (not intentionally) so it's very slippery!!
Mobil??? that's going back a few years
how about a few facts
if Calor went up in flames, it would make Buncefield look like a small bonfire!!
the site holds around 300 tons of LPG (commercial grade butane and propane)in bulk storage, not including filled cylinders.
1 litre of LPG produces 250 litres of vapour
the boiling point of butane is around -1, propane is around -47
dispite butane having a higher boiling point, it produces a hotter flame due to a higher carbon content.
butane is used in petrol to raise the octane level, which is why when you take the filler cap off to fill up, there is a slight hiss from the escaping vapour.
I won't mention BLEVE, (ask a firefighter, it's not good)
shall I go on? god I sound a right anorak
