ESC: Boy's night out......Karting anybody????
Just come back from Lakeside Karting, spent the afternoon running around the track
Had a thought, perhaps we could do an evening there and perhaps grab a Maccy Dees afterwards
Your thoughts please.

Right, here are some prices:
1 hr (2-3 drivers per team) 90.00 per team
1.5 hr (2-4 drivers per team) 135.00 "
2 hr (2-5 drivers per team 165.00 "
3 hr (3-6 drivers per team) 235.00 "
4 hr (3-8 drivers per team) 295.00 "
They also do some individual drivers races as well, which start at 50.00 per driver and goes up to 117.50 (although, thats an all day session). We can start pretty much at whatever time we like, and during the summer months they go on until 10PM.
We have to provide at LEAST 12 drivers, otherwise, they won't be interested. When I was up there this time, they had 24 karts out on track, and to a certain extent is was mayhem, there was some seriously quick drivers out there (not me!!), but there were also quite a few slower ones. The race was stopped on two occaisons, the first because someone lost a wheel and the second because somebody was thrown from their kart .
I don't mind organising it. However, on the understanding that all monies are paid up front and are non-returnable (unless the day itself is cancelled). As you can see, it's a lot of money to loose if people bail out at the last minute (but I know you wouldn't do that to me, would you? )
Big Boy, I have a date in mind that could kill two birds with one stone .
More thoughts please

Ok, after intense negotiating with the Big Bloke (i.e, he had to ask Mrs ESC if she would let him out!! ), we have set a PROVISIONAL date for Thursday 11th August 2005. This would be instead of the Halfway House meet.
Please let me know if this is suitable?

1.5 hr (2-4 drivers per team) 135.00 "
Sounds good to me
£67.50- Per driver x 2
Or £45 Per driver x 3
Im in anyway witchever you decide
Im sure for sole use of the track , You need 12 Teams , So a min of 24 Drivers ,
So looking forward to this , Nice one ED For sorting

Sorry,
To clarify, the 117. 50 (i.e 100.00 + V.A.T) option is a 'full corporate' day. Day starts at 10 and ends 4.30, it also includes a buffet. We would have to have at least 25 drivers willing to pay that sort of money. With the best will in the world, I can't see us getting that many people agreeing. Also, I can't imagine that many WIVES letting their poor, down trodden husbands paying that sort of money
They do a 76.37 (65.00 + VAT) option which is a half day corporate event where they also put on the buffet. Problem is, they only to that Monday-Friday starting between 10am and 4pm. For those that do shift work it may not be much of a problem. Again, I can't see that many people wanting to take the day off.
Prove me wrong
Your thoughts please

All available money is going into that at the moment (solicitors fee, searches etc) not to mention the full redecoration that is going to have to be done..... once we move in on the 25th July (can a house be bought in 4 weeks - only time will tell!)
Hope the Karting is a great success I'm sure it will be

Basically we have been priced out of the area (Brentwood = £140k, 1 bed flat) Hitchin (just up the A1(M) = £120k, 1 bed flat with garden )
