Wales Rally GB 16-18 September 2005


The Rally Great Britain now takes place in September, having traditionally closed the season. The move to autumn has given rise to a wider range of weather which means that drivers and teams must be prepared for everything. Britain is one of the fastest rounds of the World Championship, and has until recently been dominated by local specialists. However, the Subaru World Rally Team and Petter Solberg have made it their own with a hat-trick of victories over the last three years. The event runs through the classic forests of south Wales and is characterised by several surface changes which have caught out several drivers in the past. Although the move to September should theoretically result in warmer weather, conditions remain unpredictable with rain and mud a common feature.

dunno i never been to one as well but it looks better for me as il be coming back from germeny when the others go over so its a better date for me

I have been the last 2 years and it wicked. I`m booked up to go this sept as well, staying in Swansea. I can`t get enough of it! cant wait!!!!

Been for the past few years and off again this year - its well worth a trip. Few years ago we were in the Subaru service station when Petter got back from winning his first rally, then followed Tomi Makkinen from Felindre to the winner's ceremony back at Cardiff with a couple of other scoobs. Can't do that with F1.
