Default Best place to get remap and what parts first?

Hi,

I recently purchased a hawkeye 2006 STi PPP which has had an API engine rebuild following a head gasket starting to fail. It included mahle pistons, arp studs etc.

I know it needs a remap and have been looking at API but thought I would ask around the experts on here as to who they would recommend/use and the rough cost?

Also, whilst not wanting to spend tonnes, what would people recommend I change prior to the remap and what makes/brands do you use for the parts you would change?

Was thinking of going no more than 400bhp but would this need the turbo replacing too?

Thanks

Hi,

Decat or sportscat, fuel pump - remap makes a rapid road car around. 350-360bhp and 380-400lb.

Beyond that injectors and a 420ish bhp turbo should see 400bhp. For example a billet 20 g or sc42 or md321t.

Simon,

Many thanks for this, would I also need to replace the air filter for an uprated one? Either panel filter or complete induction kit?

Who would you recommend to remap and what cost? Was trying to work out an all in cost for the first stage (pump, remap, decat and ?filter?) And an all in second stage to include the turbo.

Apologies for the questions, been out the game for a while and never had a mortgage when I modified my old classic!!

Sorry me again....wanted your thoughts on the japspeed FMIC they are advertising on the traders market here on scoobynet?

So this is what I'm thinking to run 400bhp reliably -

FMIC - is the one Japspeed are doing anygood? Or what others would you suggest?
Fuel pump - what make and what price/where from?
Turbo - Just the turbo or BOV too? Which one, how much and where from?
Panel filter - would this work with FMIC or would I need induction kit? What one, how much and where from?
Injectors - what size, which make and where from?
decat pipe/sports cat - which one, how much and where from?

anything else I'm missing...apart from the remap?

Thanks

Can anyone advise on the above? Don't want to commit to buying something that may be rubbish or alternatively pay a fortune when I don't need to! Thanks

Not seen an issue with japspeed fmic.
You csnt fit the standard air box with fmic easily do your on induction kit.

Bov makes no difference to post as long as it doenst leak. Oe with adaptor to fit fmic is fine or no dv if turbo is strong enough.

Lateral decapped reflowed original injectors with yours in part ex eork v well.

Going to need a turbo. 400hp - billet 20g probably current favourite.
