Always better to do it one hit if it can be afforded as it saves having the car mapped or tweaked multiple times at circa £150 a pop.
As for mappers there are many to choose from and most of them travel.
What car is it, and what management are you running?

Hi
Re your original question, a mapper nearish to you (Warrington) and can come to you if you want mapped at your address (http://www.northwestmapping.co.uk/car_remap.html) Their are some prices here to view. This is same company as http://www.acspeedtech.co/index.html who have excellent reputation in this neck of woods they give sound advice and will not rip you off. I am booking my wrx Wagon in new year when all mods have been bolted on. As Infected by Sti says get all mods done before visit to mapper and save some monies!

It's a new age then so chances are the oe ecu has been remapped if it has launch control.
Pull the carpet up in the passenger footwell and there will be a metal plate with a few screws, undo that and the ecu is under there, have a look at it and see if it's original or aftermarket.
If it is original and has been remapped then it may have an ecutek licence, do you have any paperwork or receipts as proof of mapping and by who? If it's got a licence already then happy days you won't have to shell out iirc £150 in order to run an ecutek map. If it does not have a ecutek licence then you may want to look at an open source map which saves you £150 straight away on the licence fee.
Also if it's been mapped on ecutek then you will need to go back to the person who mapped it originally if you want to pay £150 for a map alteration or otherwise your looking at a full map again from who ever you choose, as one mapper can not play with another's map with ecutek.
Plus not all mappers out there can map ecutek, and those who do map with ecutek don't really map with the open source.
Few things for you to think about

Then if that's the case and it had been mapped by Duncan, get in touch with him he's on this forum and he will travel to you.
You have an open source map on the car as Duncan does not deal with ecutek, so get in touch with him would be my advice, plus a lot of people are using Duncan with good results
You can get a lot of features through the open source route, most people use the carberry rom which offers pops and bangs, anti lag, launch control, flat foot shifting etc so plenty of bells and whistles can be added whilst your there.

I'm not sure on the open source route as I don't believe they lock the maps down, but same principal applies as to would one want to alter the others map.
But as said by Jura Andrew car is another respected open source mapper with plenty of happy reviews, same goes for Duncan.
