Ecu swap,, version 4.. Uk spec into jap

Ecu swap,, version 4.. Uk spec into jap
Cut long story short,,
Just brought uk turbo car and need engine it to go into my sti,,
Can I just swap the ecu over??
As I know my sti ecu will make it run crap and don't wanna do damage so would rather run it off the uk turbo ecu till I get a apexi and get it set up with the sti turbo injectors etc
Any help please,,
My sti has its own seperate after market alarm,, just thinking is it just a straight swap., or does stuff need changing from the ignition system to make it work?
