Default Secondary Air Combi valve help

I got a engine warning light on in my 06 WRX, diagnosed as a 'secondary Air combi valve'

**** off expensive at £400 + vat plus fitting. Apparently it controls CO2 on cold start up, like I care about CO2 doing 20MPG!!

Anyway, is there a work around or cheaper way to fix it?

I don't want to leave the light on as it may cover other issues but not sure about a f-off bill for fitting a new one

Any experience or ideas on a cheaper fix please, ta

I believe the best thing to do it get it ripped out and then get a mapper to remove the codes from the ECU.

You can remove the complete secondary air system from the car and fit blanking plates to the heads, then the codes will need to be turned off within the ecu rom file.

If the fan fails that vitally a grand to sort as a further example.

cheers
