Default alan jefrey simtec map question please help

hi guys asked this question before and no answer.
my car was mapped by enginetuner alan jefrey he installed simtec chip and mapped with anti lag and launch control.
question is how do I use launch control, both switches are near handbreak on my 03 bugeye sti

if I switch it on and go for it it will bog down and not go above 6k revs, if I put anti lag and launch control on its a bit better but still bogs down.

I have tried everything , both on then rev to 6k and handbreak off once its biting then go for ift but bogs down before I change to second.

any ideas how u use this guys

regards

LC will limit the revs while you launch, even with foot to the floor it won't go over the set limit, this is the whole point of it.

Try launching with foot to the floor & dumping the clutch. I rarely launch mine as it's very hard on clutches transmissions & driveshafts so be warned.

Ate you letting the boost build up before releasing he clutch? And how much positive boost have you got on launch? Some can be set quite mild tbh as not to be overkill on your drivetrain

Default Simtek Launch Control

Hi Martin,

I live in County Durham mate ;-).. I purchased it off a guy in Exiter who had it into you.

It has 2 switches near the hand brake. One is Anti lag which works a treat and the other I was told is launch control.

if I switch it on then pull my hand break on to biting point then with boost up and rev it to about 5k then plant throttle, let foot off clutch and take handbreak off it bogs down, If I put launch control and anti lag on it a little better but still not what I would expect.

I used to have an Evo 6 with twin plate clutch I could get it every time so I have done this before.

Just not sure what I have to do with the launch Control TBH

Its boosting and running great peaking at about 1.5 bar

Am I doing something wrong.

OK, give me a call and I'll look at what details I have for the car and try and come up with a solution for you.

Default Simtek ECU Launch Control

Big thanks to MartinJ from EngineTuner Ltd.

Found out that the 2 switches near handbreak are actually Anti lag and the other is another map (less boost)

The launch control is programmed into neutral
Pull up Drop into Neutral then clutch and first - floor accelorator
it will then settle, Then side step clutch.

Cant wait to give it a go

You guys down there rock, Wish I lived closer

Go easy with it all or you'll break somethin, best when using launch to keep slipping the clutch till you have decent speed, will wear clutch but that's hell of a lot cheaper than a new box and drive shafts...that's my thinking anyway.

Also dont use AL for extended periods. My ecu has EGT control on AL as well so if it starts to creap up on temps, she cuts the AL automatically, nice and safe.
