Road or Dyno Map?

This is a massive subject, so a quick summery :
I find the dyno is a fantastic tuning tool, but you need and must keep the road or track etc that the car is going to live on in mind and were possible test and adjust in that location afterwards or before..
Both is best imho..

The more "real" power you have, the more you'll be inclined to spend time mapping on a dyno for anything other than driveability stuff. If only from a safety perspective, let alone a "brown pants" perspective.

BTW.... in answer to your question. Neither is better as a black and white question imo, as they both have their place for specific tasks and both have their advantages and disadvantages.

As Simon stated you need to do both really or as a bare minimum map on the rollers then road test to check your work.
I have my own personal reasons for not road mapping as such, but when the situation arises low speed tweaks are all I'll do on the road with someone else in command of the vehicle.
