Hello ive recently purchased a 2000 impreza turbo wagon on 1999 x reg with 150,000 miles , the car is very clean and well looked after with a very good engine and turbo! and pretty much standard apart from "3 turbo back exhaust and uprated panel filter!

sadly i dont want to spend £600 on a remap! as the car didnt even cost me that! i was thinking £250-£300 but coudnt belive it when i read that its around £800 inc getting the licence removed!
In the past i have had ecu's chipped by posting the ecu off and getting it back within 2 days, does nobody offer that service on a subaru ? or do they need put on a rollin road as nearest 4wd rollin road from me is around 130 miles away!! and isnt worth the costs to get there etc..

will no other ecu's work with little modifications?
i would be happy with around 280- 300 bhp
what power does a simple remap do?

also who can do a open-source tuning?

ideally my solution is to buy a remapped ecu that will go straight on !

You can't open source map this model year, and an Ecutek remap from scratch would cost you £540 total if I did it, where did you get £800 from ? Someone is winding you up !! Even £600 is expensive.

The cars should be custom mapped, and the MY99-00 at the level you are looking at is best road mapped.

try and find a PPP ecu, with the associated mods that will get you some gains bit not to the level you are looking for.

Hi bob thanks for that , i read on a forum that licence removal £650 then + remap is £800

if i managed to find a ppp ecu would it fit and what power gains would i get? there is a p1 ecu on ebay , what about the key codes etc will i need the ecu and transponder and chip off him ?

what power could you get the car to, if brought it down for a remap
