Default Alcatek on 2006 DBW Sti

Hi
Looking at an Ecu upgrade for my forged 2006 Sti, have been recomended to go with a Syvecs but would like to save some cash.
Cant find too much info on the Alcatek but looks like it could save a fair few quid, with similar gains and features to using Syvecs and still able to add a Toucan.
Any experiences , recomendations would be much appreciated, what would be the real cost?
Thanks for any help

Hi there

Personally I would choose Syvecs over AlcaTek,just due everything is enabled and you don't need to pay extras like for ALS,LC,datalogging,CANbus support etc plus at the end can be cheaper too,if you will find S6 for good price and get swapped board to the Charlie@SRR for yours car

If you are looking on most cars over 22b(or here which running real serious power),almost everyone running Syvecs and if its worth, yes is it worth go with S6

Think you will find that Alcatek does not have ECU for DBW version anyway. Latest Simtek does support DBW. Typically £1400 all in installed and mapped with ALS/Launch/8MB logging/software pack etc etc..

Thanks Steve, maybe getting alkatek mixed up with simtek. Price sounds good if including Vat.
Does the Toucan display work with this?

At present Toucan only works with Syvecs or the original Simtek, now AlcaTek. There has been very little interest in support for the new Steve Simpson SimTek ecu and, as I understand it, there is a very small installed base at present, meaning it is not economical to add support at this time.

That may change of course as and when the new SimTek gains in popularity.

My understanding is that AlcaTek do have a DBW version undergoing test, but not sure if it is available yet - might be worth checking with them?

Why do you need an aftermarket engine management system? What are your goals?

Short answer is that yes, it will happen. Long answer is that initially it will probably be for other vehicles first, and then for Scoobs with CANbus capability (i.e. later models only) and only after that for earlier models.

Running at 440ish HP now, looking to be able to run a few maps for, various boost, different fuels, get rid of MAF and get some better maping, with more safety features.
Would be nice to have Toucan display, not keen on lots of gauges.
