Default 2004 STI with b3 ECU help

Hi fellas got a quick question,I have a 2004 STI engine ready to fit into my 1976 VW Beetle these engines make a good alternative to the old air-cooled VW ones.

The question I have is will a B3 ECU do the job of running the engine ? I am no expert on engine management and any help and advise would be really helpful

Hi there

If you want to swap the engine to yours 1976 VW Beetle you will need swap too engine loom etc.,its not straight swap on yours existing loom

Not sure on B3 ECU,from which car is this ECU,its from New age(01-07) or older classic,if its from classic this ECU can't control AVCS(this have yours 2004 STi engine)

Probably worth have look for other options like aftermarket ECU,with which will be easier to wire etc.

Hi there

Not sure, but if B3 ECU(which is from few infos from GC8/GF8) is from Classic(GC8/GF8 92-00) this can be little bit more difficult just yours loom/harness is for New age and not for classic

Probably better will be find the ECU which is from New age(GD/GG 2000-2007) and you can use yours loom/harness etc
