Default Simtek/Alcatek wideband o2 sensor

Gonna be fitting an Alcatek ecu soon and a wideband oxygen sensor. I was wondering do you still need to have the OEM sensor working as well as my OEM sensor has died anyway. I was hoping the wideband would render the OEM obsolete now?

Also if I do now only use the Wideband, would it be best to put it in the original oem place or in the downpipe behind the turbo as I have a lug there too?

It's an e1s96 ecu

No need for old sensor if WB fitted (I take it it's the new firmware ecu you're getting as I don't think original was compatible), and fit it in downpipe if you can.

You might have already considered it but the Toucan display is also well worth it.

Thank you, that is good news. The original oem costs more than the lc-1 wideband! The ecu has the wideband upgrade and I will be sending it off for the latest alcatek upgrade too. I was thinking about the toucan - it does look trick, I will add that on later for sure. For now though I will get the optional fuel ratio gauge with the innovate lc-1 kit assuming you can connect to the alcatek and gauge at the same time?

I#m running the updated simtek, now alcatek with innovate and a gauge, works well. Andy and his chap Nigel do a great job of setting up the connectors so you can have the gauge for easy reading when driving and it shows on the logs which helps with tuning, top marks!
