Default unmapping?

a short while ago i bought a '54 wrx wagon. it has a turbo back exahsust system with a high-flow cat, and an aftermarket air intake. it has been mapped to 286 bhp on v-power fuel. when i bought the car there were 4 shell stations locally, unfortunately in the last month they have all changed to bp you can see where this is going....

i cant justfiy, nor would i want to have to drive a 30 mile round trip to buy v-power. so, what are my options?

option1. i could get my ecu remapped to run on regular fuel

option 2. could i just buy a replacement stock ecu? im guessing the exhaust and filter may be too much to run the stock map? if it was possible, im guessing the ecu is tied in with the key? is it possible to reprogramme the immobiliser part of the ecu? if the immobiliser was easy enough to sort out, id maybe consider replacing the exhaust and filter, or some of it

option 3. well, i cant think of any more options.

any suggestions or advice chaps?

I suggest you have it remapped for 95ron, you can then re-fuel it anwhere and enjoy it.

that would be my preferred option, but I would have liked to keep hold of the current map on the ecu in case circumstances changed and I could go back to using v-power.

I won't use it mate. the last time I had my rx7 mapped we did some testing with bp ultimate and tesco 100 Ron. tescos wasn't massively different but we made almost 80 bhp more on vpower, due to det with the ultimate. It may be better than 95 Ron, but not enough to justify the price.

as this is is my daily driver, if I'm going to mak a compromise at all I think it will have to be for the cheapest alternative which is 95 ron
