Default Syvecs or alcatek ??

As above really just wanting to know which will be the most beneficial for my car.needs to be either one as I need the option to run avcs heads in the near future.
Car is:

V3 sti
2.0
Rotated 30r
960cc injectors etc etc

Car will be mainly fast road but will be entering as many sprints, hill climbs as I can.

Cheers

Hi Tim

We are went with Syvecs S6 and must admit we are love Syvecs, its our best investment

Here is why Syvecs will be better:

You don't need to upgrade Syvecs to run NOS or AVCS(on AlcaTek is this for extra)

ALS and LC is for free(on AlcaTek you will need pay for this)

Datalogging is free on Syvecs(AlcaTek is for extra)

Lambda/Wideband or EGT driver on board(on AlcaTek you will need external controllers like AEM,Zeitronix or other, which means extra from £100 plus per Wideband/EGT controller)

CanBus(if you are planning to run Dash2 or other race dash,or JTi Toucan)

Mapping via single RJ45 cable(broadband cable) or accessing the ECU via RJ45,you don't buy expensive cable

Engine trips for oil pressure, oil temp,EGT,fuel pressure etc

Speak to people which running Syvecs or AlcaTek(don't think is too many which running updated AlcaTek)

I had a similar spec to you on my sti 3 and chose the syvecs, ultimately if you can afford both then syvecs would be the one to go for.

The backend support is so much better as alcatek is a one man band, just ask how long some people have had to wait for the upgrade....

Just picked up a syvecs pnp from Mark at lateral performance after contemplating getting the alcatek but after researching the two syvecs came out on top,as said before by jura11 for the mentioned standard specification.

The one thing I would consider upgrading on the syvecs is going for the advanced knock control upgrade, it makes the knock control fully mappable rather than just a global setting

What's the price comparison guys ?
I guess I really need to speak to jgm or someone.

Thing is I need the ecu supplying with a base map so I can plug it in check everythings ok,take it to work so I can test it then tax etc.
Before any mapping can be carried out.

Im not to sure of how much the alcatek is but the syvecs is not cheap as most suppliers sell them for around the same price.£1***.

Hi Tim

Speak to the Duncan@Race Dynamix,Paul@Zen Performance or Simon@JGM,MartynJ@ET about the prices,Syvecs is supplied without the base map,but from Syvecs forum you can download software and base map without the problem

I have for a fair few customers now installed the ecu and loaded base map, owner drives whilst being adjusted by me to mot station.. mot, then road mapped, then finished on a dyno same day or another

Both good ecu's.. slightly difficult being a dealer for both not to annoy one or the other

I live in Oz now & when i get myself another project this is something i will be looking at, also as i'm not living in the UK do i save on the dreaded VAT?

sorry if i've jumped on the OP's thread

Syvecs does look like a winner, has anyone gone from alcatek to syvecs ?
Probably not as alcatek is still shiny new

You can do that with the syvecs but if you read the link I posted you can connect to the ecu wirelessly using 3G and the mapper can map it that way without actually being present
