Turbo Smart Supersonic Dump valve query?

What happens if you turn the valve all the way up, as in as hard as it goes? Does it damage the Turbo or do damage elsewhere?

I thought it was if you make the valve softer?

iv also got the same and after answers on this which way to turn it for best louder noise...
