Default 1.3 Bar Boost is this Too much???

Ive been looking into having a performance upgrade done on my 04 Subaru WRX. This package encludes a Walbro 255fuel pump, adjustable boost controller and a re-mapp to 1.3 Bar.

1.3 Bar is a big increase on the the standard boost pressure so would this vastly increase the chances of my engine going bang?? Also I have not seen many companies offering Adj boost controllers for Subaru's so is this worth bothering with??

Any info/advice would be much appreciated!!

The remap will control the boost pressure, whos the company mate as it sounds a tad dodgy to me, any tuner knows full well a remap controls the boost.

Its just a package they offer on their website specifically for Subaru's. I did email them to ask them about it and just got a reply saying it would show good improvement over my cars performance as it was ie (3inch decat exhaust, uprated intake and mapped to 1.1bar). Like I said tho im not on here to slag any Firms off just after a bit of genuine advice...

Hi there

I don't think increase of boost up to 1.3bar will increase chance of engine goes bang,if car is correctly mapped

But still think you don't need boost controller, your ECU all ready can control boost without the problem

I would add to your upgrades too decat exhaust including the downpipe and decatted up pipe, with those parts fitted you should be looking at 270-280bhp

No point of that boost controller at all with a proper remap and actually is a disadvantage as the ecu will have no control over boost and no ability to put it into safe mode to protect itself. Let alone the gizmo boost controller is probably the most basic I have seen and not suited to that turbo/car combination imho.

Std ecu works just great and 1.3 bar is no probs if mapped right

See you soon Johnny
