Default Iat

I've got a JDM V3 STI running ESL. It's running mafless so I want to do away with the MAF. I ordered what I thought was an open ended iat sensor as seen in the second pic. But what I received Is not open ended like the one in the first picture. Does anyone know if this will be ok or does it need to be open ended?
cheers.

sure its not a cap covering it as its hard to see in the pic but looks like a cap to protect the sensor in travel ??

If the response is fast enough it shouldn't be a problem. But some IAT's are far better than others. I have an old IAT which was installed together with my Alcatek 10 years ago, I feel it's a bit slow to respond so I'm probably going to fit a different Bosch IAT https://www.bosch-motorsport-shop.co...140-deg-c~4227

I have heard good things about the AEM IAT too, it's the same as a GM original fitted part. https://www.aemelectronics.com/produ...ure-ait-sensor

Ok cheers. I'm waiting for a response from the seller. I'll hook my multimeter up to it tomorrow and do some tests on it.
