2001 JDM STI Maffless ?
Hi!
I have the above engine in a beetle but the MAF sensor is really gunna be an issue due to the turbo location.
What is involved with going mafless and who can be recommended to do the switch? I'm in warwick but happy to travel to find someone appropriate. Or if this something i can buy and fit myself?
On another not, just to get me running ive made a 80-60 reducer 100mm long with the Maf located in the center of the tube to get me running as im still building the car. the Maf is only 3 inchs away from the impeller. Is this a total no no, or would it be 'ok' to drive carefully, no boost etc?
Also is there a reason its not using the MAP sensor instead? ive never used a MAF on a performance type car before so wondering why the VM bother with it if the engine load can be measured by the MAP?
Any help would be much appreciated!
