Default Engine replacement

I’m needing to replace the engine in my 2002 wrx turbo made 11/02 it says on the compliance badge. I was wondering if I can put and ej20 from a 2003 Impreza in it easily or will it require modification and extra work?

^^^^^^^^
As above.

For an Aus market car "built" in 11/02 it should have an EJ205GW5BB engine (check VIN plate) for a 5MT or EJ205GX5BB for the sport shift version . One from an equivalent '03 car will most likely be the same.

Just "seen" your other thread

Your car was "built" before 11/02 so not sure what they use as "compliance date" for.
