Hi,

I need to extract the map from my ECU to send to the mapper to have a fault code turned off that is no longer required. I don't wish to drive 9 hours round trip back to him, so emailing the file is the easier solution.

Does anyone have a Tactrix Openport 2 plus the adaptors I will need for my 2014 MY15 new shape STI?

I know it's a long shot, but thanks in advance.

I'm in Aylesbury in Bucks.

no adapters needed for 2008+ just the openport itself. If it's opensource mapped then you can disable the code yourself once you read the map off the car (there's a list of codes just click it and "disable"). If you can't find anyone nearby with an openport one of your more local generic tuning companies may have an up to date Kess which will be able to read the map off for you (though be sure to check it's a master and not a slave tool otherwise your mapper won't be able to use the file).

worth noting if it's an ECUTek map you'll not be able to read it off with ECUFlash software as it will be locked.

Thanks for the very helpful and informative reply. Very much appreciated indeed.

Thankfully Ryan from Syvecs is sending me his Tactrix adaptor now which I should receive early next week and my mapper has said he can log in remotely via remote desktop on my laptop to sort it all for me.

So hopefully all sorted now.

no worries, if your tempted to buy one yourself normally I'll order direct from tactrix, arrives by fedex 48 hour shipping every time which is good going considering thats from san fran to UK to norn iron!

Cool, that's very fast indeed. Have they rectified all their gremlins with the Tactrix? Andrew Carr was telling me the earlier models used to fail a lot because of the poor quality PCBs inside.

there's been some updates to them yeah, personally I've only killed them by ripping the USB socket off the board other than that they've survived everything else that could happen to them over the years going in and out of cars.

Any reason for going open source on the MY2015 and not Ecutek?

It was open source mapped by the previous owner Jamie @ Evotune after he forged it. Jamie maps all sorts of cars and uses all sorts of software specialising in Syvecs. He chose to open source map it, but to be honest with you these days I can't see the benefit of Ecutek over open source can you? You can now do throttle blipping, anti-lag, launch control, switchable maps etc all open source mapped.

Ecutek was sold that once you paid for the expensive license and first map that any subsequent maps were peanuts and could be done by anyone, which we know really isn't the case. All of my Subaru's have been open source mapped by reputable mappers and I haven't had a single issue and haven't been happier.

Fair enough - I didn't know what functions were actually available properly on open source for this model hence me asking. Are you going to have to run speed density to get those things or are they available on the usual mapping style?

I've gone RaceROM for the reasons of some of those features but also looking to take advantage of the FlexFuel ability in the future.

To be fair, I was talking in general about open source and Ecutek based on my experience with newage cars. I don't honestly know if they are available for the later models like mine. I'm not really bothered with any of those options as they are all for show and have no real world daily driving benefit IMO, all they do is put more strain on parts and wear turbos out faster. Mine is already switchable through the Si drive button in my car, so would assume it's possible if required.

I may be going over 400bhp at some point as I've got a FMIC kit and induction kit on their way for the car. If I do then I may go speed density maffless if available.

from my own experience anything 08+ my preference is ECUtek on them, early bug/blobs carberry has more features and flexibility and hawks can be either or depending on the setup.
