Subaru say the immobilizer isn't part of the ecu. They say it's hard wired seperate to the ecu but so far the wires I've traced look like it does go to the ecu which throws my theory out of the window because I've literally had an email from Andy carr say that the ecu is key coded and he carnt by pass it. So is an aftermarket ecu going to do the job because I carnt find the right reciever so far.i don't want to buy an aftermarket ecu and still be in the same situation
Aftermarket ecu should cause you no problems its only aftermarket alarms that should/would need to be bypassed. You should be able to fit a JDM ecu and swap cam and crank sensor and move the fuel pump pin. The only problem with that is v3/4 aren't mappable so you would need an ESL board so your back at square one.
Don Clark is your man their I have them somewhere in this computer but I only really deal with JDM stuff i'll look about in here and see can I find the two iirc there's a few mappers sites have the two JDM and UK.

Have a couple here but there 6s ecu's what turbo have you a td04 for these are for vf23. Probably no cases either due to going aftermarket but your case would do.
