Doesn't only save on license if you use the same mapper?

no once the ecu is licensed any of us with the ECUTek cable/software can write a fresh map to the ECU to suit the car

If it was me I'd be thinking about an opensource map with carberry though, the launch great for building boost and of course you save on license fees and having to get that ECU coded to your car.

Unless your planning to add AVCS heads later then there's no benefit to the STI ecu over a WRX one like you have now in my opinion.

As above not worth spending on another ecu which will need mapping to your car may as well put the money towards a fresh map

Avoid it .... its states its an STi ecu and you have a WRX, there are hardware differences

And you will probably break your 5 speed gearbox using launch control on it

Once an EcuTek licence is in an ecu then any EcuTek dealer can use it. They cannot see whats in there. But any decent tuner would want to map it their way in any case.

£120 is a very decent price for it the licence is more than that
