Default Cat Change After Re-Map?

Hi,

I have an '07 Hawkeye WRX fitted with Cobra Sport cat. The car has been re-mapped, running ~275bhp.

My question is this: if I wanted to swap back to the OEM cat, would I need to have the car re-mapped again?

I'm thinking of refitting the original cat primarily to reduce noise, and to save the annual MOT performance of getting it through the emmissions test.

Many thanks,
Paul

From all I've read on here and speaking to people yes you would as it would change the back pressure I believe which would impact lamda readings etc

If it's a sports cat should it not pass the mot anyway?
and would there be much difference in noise between the two Down Pipes?

Car wont need a map for the sports to standard cat, if you went to a decat, then yes for the reason above,
But as mentioned, if the sports cat is warmed up then it will pass the MOT.
