Default Adding fields to esl fuel map table and timing table?

Hi all

Do any if you experienced ESL people know if its possible to add fields to the fuel map and other tables.. for example the fuel map table goes from 800 to 6800, id like to add another 2 fields for 7200 and 7600. is it possible? if not ill raise the 800 to 1000 and the the 6800 to 7500 and interpolate...

the timing one is more important really as i want to know whats going on after 6350rpm where it seems the be max in the logs but i know from my eyeballs that im well over 7k.

V4 Sti.

on another note what you guys running timing wise over 6k rpm with around 1.3-1.4bar boost? mine was mapped by a pro(!) and the timing at 5k on the total adv timing was 26 rising to 29 after 6400... logs never go above 27.

cheers

Rich

You can't add but you can edit and interpolate.
If you tick 50step RPM as well as 25step in your logs then you will see past 6350rpm.

Do you mean your @26 in total timing table? Not advanced table?
26 is more timing than I run at full boost, but different car different setup,if your not seeing/hearing det and you're happy with the balance of fuel and timing then all good.

26 full timing at 1.3 bar , ouch ! But if your not hearing Det then fair play , good engine

I'm running 18 then 17 degrees at full chat at 1.3 bar as I heard Det at 19 and 20 degrees

I heard a little bit of det at 6k and the esl picked up 1 knock at 6350 but could have been higher but was at the exact same point as the timing advanced from 25 to 26. Thats total advance. Ive decreased it now to 24 dropping to 22 and heard nothing at all this morning.

Thanks for the replys.

Full blast i was seeing low 10s on the wideband so leaned it slightly this morning and was solid at 11.5.. no det or anything but im temped to get a bit richer unless 11.5 is ok... what you guys think.

11.5 is ok , low 11s optimum as revs increase at full chat

cheers for that, ive googled about and looked on here, seen some mentions that 12.5 on highboost is fine but never fancied that. ill drop the afr a few points and log again tomorrow. logging 50rpm works too nice one.

That's the thing, some mappers run lean with less timing and others richer with more timing, what ever works best for you really.
What does your knock correction table and IAM look like Rich?

depending on how old the engine is I would be heading towards the 11:1 afr for a classic. 12's can be done (and with some decent timing too) but your det can game needs to be on point and don't expect things to last long as the EGT's will certainly be climbing. 11.1:1 should give you a nice balance between power output and longevity on a more seasoned engine.

Total timing your probably looking around 22 degrees at peak hp and 10-15 at peak torque with a smooth progression in-between the two points. If your hitting more timing than that without knock then you may consider increase the boost a little (assuming you have headroom on the injectors). Don't rely on the knock count to tell you when it gets bad though, use your can's and listen carefully as older engines and some forged builds can be quite noisy anyway.

IAM is at 16 and the knock table is all green n zeros. I think ill aim for 11.1 as suggested as i dont drive around with det cans all the time lol. Didnt know that less timing gives more torque or am i reading that wrong... thanks

less timing doesn't always give more torque, but you have to lower timing as you approach peak torque to avoid knock, then ramp the timing back up again as you approach peak hp.
