Default Exhaust/downpipe/uppipe etc wrapping

Hi guys and girls,

Does heat wrapping the exhaust/up-pipe/down pipe etc etc make alot of difference in performance ? because I've read good and bad things about doing this ie it being dangerous and damaging the parts that are wrapped.

I can understand the whole concept of it keeping the engine bay at a lower temperature though which makes sense.

It keeps the heat in which increases flow so yes does lower bonnet temps and increase performance

Only thing i have wrapped is my down pipe to help warm the cat up for mot. How effective wrapping your exhaust is on reducing temperatures i'm not sure, and would it make any noticeable difference. All questions i do not have the answer to.

i can imagine it makes a little
Difference in exhaust temperatures and keeps engine bay temps down, but by how much, I don't know if anyone has the answer to that

DEI wrap seems to be very popular.
AS performance does a good price on all his stock.
Other traders on here sell wrap too,
Scoobyworx and opie oils do wrap afaik and both offer forum discounts.
