Remap my sti hatch
How safe would it be to get my 2011 sti hatch remapped?
I have been told it had an engine rebuild at 54k but now showing 79k. I have spoken to the dealer who done the engine work but they won't supply me with any paperwork as i wasn't the owner at the time.
Can i just map the si sport sharp part of the i drive?
Thanks in advance.

the i drive settings are more for adjusting throttle plate angle they aren't complete and separate maps inside the ECU. Your mapper can tinker it around though so you can keep fairly standard power for some of the modes and only have the extra power available on say sport #. If you get an ecutek map on it you can also have the sport# enable/disable the racemode features so it's well worth considering.
Regarding the engine build, if it was rebuild with standard parts then it's likely they will fail the same as the first set of standard parts did so I'd keep pushing them to give you the details on what went into it.
