Default ESL + wideband

Hi guys!

I want to install an AEM wideband (uego 30-4110). I know the ESL is capable of switching the voltage from 0-1v to 0-5v for the wideband. My question is, is it better to have both the AEM and the factory sensor? Or will it be easier just to replace the factory sensor with the AEM wideband? The AEM kit can datalog using a serial/usb cable.

Can ESL datalog the AFR *IF* I just use the wideband connected to the ecu?

i replaced the stock sensor with the aem, and set the aem output to 0-1v while running closed loop, then while logging turn closed loop off and switch the aem output back to 0-5v,
you can log the wideband voltage through esl, not sure if they have updated the software yet to log afr

Thanks! I read somewhere the ESL logged afr in volts, also someone mentioned there was a formula (volts x 2) + 10 = afr? Not sure if I read this right or not.

Did you reuse your old sensor's connector for the white signal wire from the AEM gauge, and hooked it to the factory loom? Or spliced the wire from the harness/ecu?

i spliced into the harness at the ecu end,
in the manual to your gauge, aem supply the volt to afr conversion

Ok thanks! I don't have the kit yet, but I downloaded the instructions online and saw the chart. Thanks!

I guess I will use the factory location in the mean time to save a little cash. Then when I get a better downpipe I'll use both sensors.

EDIT: I've been using the supplied map with my 75 ESL ecu for awhile (ver4 Sti stock). I won't be able to get a tune until end of june. Can I run this basemap for long periods?
