Is there any way of telling if an ECU map has been changed after logging it?

I have checked the ECU housing and there is no sticker to indicate a remap.

If it can be done I will get the cable and software and investigate. Failing that I will have to contact a mapper for help.

 

Have you a boost gauge?

 

as above, check boost levels and see if your running different boost from what it should be as that's generally step one in increasing the power with a remap. Failing that any of your local remappers should be able to easily tell you if the car has been mapped or not.

 

I don't have a boost gauge installed but that's my next purchase!

Anyone know the stock boost for a UK 2008 STI Hatch?

peak boost will vary depending on requested torque but you'd be seeing somewhere in the region of 14.70 psi/1 bar

 

Going to get a boost gauge fitted but in the meantime I finally found out the car has been remapped by the late JGM. Thanks JGM, R.I.P
