Mine was 'pro' mapped just before I bought it,wasn't great tbh, rough cruise, over boosting its *** off and plenty of knock! Mapper must have had a bad day.
Got a cable and remapped myself, drives miles better but I'm 100% sure a decent mapper on a good day would have it running to its full potential,I'm sure with a bit more time and practice I will get it running closer to its potential

Manual is useful but doesn't really show how to map
Just wanted to see a map done by pro that took longer the 20 mins

Yes the manual is very useful indeed.
Plenty of logging and small changes is how I've approached it,had some good advice of some kind members on here plus **** loads of reading, seems to be working well for me but it's a steep learning curve, loads more to come, currently on map number 24
Tempted to take it on the rollers to see some figures.

I have the cable and software cars been mapped and i tweaked some of it car is v3 sti ra with few bolt ons
Just like to learn more about mapping I ok with fuelling and boost just not much info around about timing like what does changing values on vacuum and spool do and where abouts is ideal
And on standard map shows - boost target low load high revs
when mapped timing decreased with revs
Just wanted see other maps to see what they like
Cheers

ahhhhh well there's an ESL training course coming up in the new year that would answer all that and a helloflot more - might be worth sticking your name down for it if you've a few coins to spare.

if you just want to look at some other maps to get an idea of things you can look at the romraider site and check out some of the shared/tuned roms for different cars/turbo setups. It will give you an idea of what to look for and what looks normal - the basics of what your after will translate from one car to another - you just have to move the numbers around a bit so you can compare the ESL version to say an ECUflash image off a stage 2 WRX or whatever.

I've helped a few folk here with their ESL stuph - so if you don't mind doing some logging I can walk you through what your seeing and what might be some good changes to make.

Ok cheers I only have this log need do full boost log at 1.3 bar timing is similar as makes full load on map at 60% throttle
Sure esl course would be useful but isn't Andy the software designer and gets other people to do mapping

there's quite a lot of indepth stuph on the course outline:

I think its safe to say if he didn't know how to map a car then building the software wouldn't have been the easiest. Once you know how to operate the software properly it makes the whole job easier for you.

Lol. If there is any doubt as to my credentials, I have a mechanical engineering degree from Bristol Uni, a Computer Science degree from Cambridge (Kings College) and have upgraded over 1000 Subaru ECUs to standalones. I personally map all our racecars, and the first thing you need to know as a software designer before you design an application is how to do the job in the first place. I suspect this course will be a rare opportunity where you get the full attention of the system designer rather than a system user.
