Default Jdm blobeye iat sensor fitted to tmic is a map tweak needed.

As above my car is mapped mafless but the maf was used for measuring the iat. I have now removed the maf and fitted a iat to my tmic do I need a map tweak ?

yes - depending on where the IAT has been positioned in the top mount. if it's after the top mount closer to the throttle body then the temps it's reading will be different to what you had before so your timing may have been knocked up a bit.

Also depending on the brand of IAT used the sensor scaling may need adjusted in the ECU otherwise the car may not be getting the correct info fed to it.

Shouldn't take long to get setup if you've used a decent sensor, plug the scaling in - do a few runs to sort out the timing and off you go again.

Don't all Jdm Sti's have the intake air temp sensor fitted .I came across it when I removed the intercooler to do gear oil on the 05 Jdm Sti its in the throttle housing lower left .Had the intercooler of before but never spotted it

Thanks yes I fitted it a couple it a couple inches from the throttle body so I'll book it in just to make sure things are ok.

II don't think mine had a iat fitted perhaps it's just spec c's and later models ?
