Question FSTI Check Engine Light - Throttle Pedal?

Hi,

Recently been having issues with my Forester going into limp mode, revs sitting around 1500 at idle, no power at all.

turn off, back on and it normally resets.

Took it to my local mechanic and it's throwing a code relating to the throttle pedal each time they reset.

Haven't got the code off him, but he doesn't want to be fiddling with or replacing the pedal without my say so if it's a big/expensive job.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction or what actually causing the error?

Thanks,

Chris

Edit -

Just got the codes off general OBD reader the mechanic has

coming up as [ throttle valve / accelerator switch B - voltage value too high ]

Anybody have any ideas on this?

Would it be worth me taking it to Keith Price Subaru to check out?

Don't know how they look upon imports when it comes to servicing, parts and the like.

Thats what i was thinking, probably a short across it somehow.

The local mechanic isn't particularly subaru savvy and works on more 'rural' stuff to say the least.

just wondering where the best place to go would be to get a price
