Alright chaps my classic is currently running a motec ecu but the cold idle is driving me crazy when I start the car the revs sit at around 14-1600 rpm I have to sit and wait for the revs to go to around 900-950 before I touch the accelerator Cuz if I do it shoots to around 2000-2500 revs and takes ages to come back down ive spoken to a couple of places and they have all said there is nothing much I can do as this is a comman thing with motecs is this true ??

I ran a M48 pro in my last car and didn't suffer any cold idle problems.
It'll be a mapping issue

It was mapped by Mr Rawle howver its not running any lambda's so could this be an issue having no lambda control ?

Did Bob tell you that a 1600 rpm cold idle is normal then ??

It was mapped before I got it I have spoken to Bob since however he couldn't tell me a lot about it as he hadn't made any notes regarding idle etc I do know it was live mapped and not done on a rolling road I think I'm gonna just gonna have to get it mapped again as I can't cope with this idle issue much longer lol

Sometimes if a car is not seen cold to map it you can get cold start issues. If the previous owner left it to idle to warm up before driving he may not of even noticed it did it.

Its best to map a car when warm and then revisit when cold if there is an issue.

Yea that makes sense tbf cheers si I will look into getting it mapped again and go from there

Hi Craig

As above you will need to have map tweaked for cold start,this is the same for any ECU like is AlcaTek or Syvecs,in all cases you will need to have map tweaked for cold weather
