The last update I heard was the Motorsport package is only available on the v3/4
But Andy Stevens was working on the package for the v1/2. The website has not updated yet to say its out yet but it can't be far off I would imaging. Your best off ringing Andy to see how it's going

Honestly, I don't know the answer to that. I think the price difference could come from the fact that ESL is an add on board to the OEM ECU. Andy has reverse engineered what JECS designed and built. He's been able to crack their code as it were and has made it possible to read and modify it accordingly.
As for the other standalone ECU's, the respective manufacturers have had to design and build the whole thing from scratch which would create colossal costs from the word go. Not that I'm taking away from Andy and his brother, they're very clever guys and they've done an amazing job and should be rewarded for it. Personally, the extra (retained) features you get by using ESL made my mind up. Other ECU's don't have the majority of these functions. I think the only thing ESL can't do (yet) is AVCS control.

He's very busy yes, always gets back to you as soon as possible though.
Anti-lag/launch control/flat shift etc. Isn't available as yet for the v1-2 but it's definitely not been forgotten about and hopefully not the only other intresting features esl may have to offer.

Correct, anti-lag, launch control features are NOT available yet (on 92-96)as it will be an optional upgrade.
An advantage of going mafless is being able to do away with either 1) the maf as a restriction 2) the maf as a commonly failing part (depending on year).
That's actually 2 doh.

We are in the finishing stages of the 99/00 build at the mo which represents the vast bulk of our enquiries these days. As soon as that is done, porting over the msport build to the 92/6 should be fairly quick. There are loads of 92/6 ESL ECUs out there so it makes sense for us to continue to support and upgrade them. It will happen, but as a 2 man band you can probably appreciate our workload is pretty high.

thanks for the reply helps loads a used to think ESL was done buy a big company with loads of staff (like apple) lol thats some impressive/clever work you and your brother have done

fair to say we aren't quite on the same scale as Apple, but thanks, the aim was always to bring useful features in at a reasonable price and I hope we have we have brought a smile to the face of many a Subaru owner.
